Eons ago, when scarce I knew the lode was true,
\nI chipped away with pen and ink,
\nFollowing ancient lore that gold lay
\nDeep within the canyons of my soul.<\/p>\n

Midst darkest tunnels discovering
\nNew maps, a compass, chant, and breath,
\nBringing shining hope of truth
\nBreathed fresh from alien lands.<\/p>\n

The Lode was deep and wide and true;
\nBearing jewels of peace, and faith, and love.
\nDelving deep, I sank within, and
\nSlowly, in dark gold, the silence fell.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0
\nLong days now, the tools sit idle,
\nHid \u2019neath a cloak of silence.
\nWeighing their heft and form, I
\nFumble to find an edge, and cut a word.<\/p>\n

For miner\u2019s heart still stirs,
\nAnd even Silence sings,
\nBut in the Lode, All is One,
\nAnd mere letters flee from WORD.<\/p>\n
